Studio Pim is an interior design practice based in Lisbon, working on hospitality and residential projects.
WHO WE ARE
After 10 years at leading interior design studios in London, Belgian interior designer Perrine Velge moved to Portugal and set up Studio Pim. Since its inception in 2020, the studio has made a number of singular additions to Lisbon’s restaurant scene, with a clutch of bespoke residential and hotel projects in the works. The studio is driven by the simple desire to bring joy through holistic design. At the forefront of everything we do is our belief is that mindful design paves the way to meaningful interiors. What does home feel like? Let’s start here.
WHAT WE DO
As interior architects we don’t need much more than four walls to come onboard a project. From there we begin planning the space with our client, making sure the fundamental layout reflects their aspirations from the ground up. Then we begin the alchemy of designing and selecting the furniture and lighting that will make the space wholly its own. More often than not this means designing original pieces to be made by our network of craftspeople here in Portugal.
OUR PARTNERS
We are one part of the equation in constructing your vision. We have our network of trusted engineers, builders, carpenters, furniture makers, art advisers and identity shapers. We draw upon these relationships to create projects with locality, meaning, and longevity.
PERRINE VELGE
I studied History of Art in Edinburgh before moving into interior design but my greatest teachers were my grandmother, a French seamstress, and my mother, a doctor who spent her life redecorating our small home outside Brussels. My mum taught me how to sew and my dad, an adventurer, taught me that there are always solutions, even in the middle of the Sahara. I worked for many years in London at top interior design firms, from über luxury and fast paced commercial, to boutique tastemakers with encyclopaedic knowledge of vintage furniture. I soaked it all up, broadening my knowledge and refining my instincts toward a personal approach. My years in the industry endowed me with technical acuity at every level of a project, but I choose to define my studio with something less tangible; the instinct that design should make us happy.
